Жизнь

Маленькая Анна жила с родителями–исследователями на небольшом острове площадью 250 акров в Атлантическом океане. Больше на острове никого не было.
Лучшие друзья — птенец ястреба и лангуст. 1938 год

upd.

This is Ann Lockley (now Ann Mark) taking tea with a baby hawk and a lobster. Ann lived on the island of Skokholm, where her family were the only inhabitants and animals were pals. This photo was taken for a 1938 National Geographic story 'We Live Alone and Like It -- On An Island'.

Ann's father was the late Welsh naturalist and author Ronald Lockley. His detailed studies of rabbits inspired the book Watership Down. Wowee.

Ann edited this book of letters (I think from her father to her mother, before they were married?!)

(Ronald wrote a book about their island life called 'Dream Island' and this book of letters too. He wrote a lot of stuff, actually!)
